Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Procurement, the Category Manager II, Procurement - Contingent Labor and Professional Services will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of the assigned categories. This role operates with a high level of independence, providing strategic influence across HR, Finance, Legal, and IT stakeholders while optimizing supplier value and minimizing risk. It involves working closely with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) and Vendor Management System (VMS) in support of the Contingent Labor program. This role supports Gap Inc\'s NextGen Procurement Transformation, advancing cross-functional engagement and shaping the future of Procurement. The Category Manager II will engage and establish partnerships across Gap and suppliers to collaborate, influence, and be a creative thought partner that consistently delivers value. This role should lead and inspire by focusing on the development, implementation, and execution of sourcing strategies and processes across Procurement, to enable a competitive advantage and maximize the functional ROI for Gap Inc. What You\'ll Do Value Capture
- Accountable for development and execution of category strategies for the Contingent Labor and Professional Services categories. Responsible for achieving procurement savings targets (P&L, Capital and Non-P&L) for this category. Create and manage a multi-year pipeline of projects that deliver value year over year. Seek industry best practices and innovative solutions to advance procurement value creation. Manage staffing supplier relationships, including performance management and contract negotiations. Lead advanced sourcing strategies including benchmarking, rate governance, and value tracking across contingent labor and SOW-based tech services. Partner with Finance and business leaders to forecast category spend and drive multi-year cost optimization plans.
Sourcing Rigor
- Promote a competitive bid culture for Contingent Labor and Professional Services projects by applying advanced levers and driving a strategic shift in how the team works.
Category Management
- Develop deep category strategies with a focus on actionable multi-year sourcing strategies. Build and develop high-performing category management teams. Own staffing supplier relationships, including performance management and contract negotiations. Govern end-to-end lifecycle of SOWs, including intake, negotiation, milestone structure, and compliance reviews for deliverable-based engagements. Collaborate with HR to align category strategy with total workforce planning and internal talent priorities. Procurement Technology and Advanced Sourcing Capabilities
- Strong understanding and experience with procurement technology (VMS, spend analytics, sourcing, eAuction, CLM) to enable efficient ways of working. Develop and maintain spend analytics, category segmentation and supplier profiling to enable opportunity mining and category management. Analyze and leverage supplier spend data across segmented spend categories. Build and strengthen strategic relationships — partner across functions and with senior internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and colleagues to drive results and facilitate complex change management. Leverage strong influencing skills — balance speed and priorities while proactively considering new alternatives and driving critical thinking to optimize results. Serve as a functional SME for the VMS platform, driving workflow enhancements, user training, and performance analytics in partnership with the MSP. Leverage advanced reporting tools and dashboards to enable workforce transparency and data-driven decision-making. Who You Are Experience: 5-7 years in Procurement for a global company focused on category management and execution. Demonstrated expertise in leading complex sourcing strategies across Contingent Labor, Tech Services, or similar categories in a global environment. Proven ability to influence cross-functional and executive stakeholders across HR, Legal, and Finance. Experience managing both staff augmentation and deliverable-based services, including SOW structuring and compliance alignment. Strategic mindset with the ability to balance operational execution with long-range planning. Sourcing capability — significant experience driving long-term results through category strategies, leveraging market knowledge, collaboration and influencing at all levels of a global organization. Drive for results — ability to navigate ambiguity and lead others to achieve high performance and sustainable results. Excellent executive-level communication and presentation skills. Change leadership — experience leading with and without authority to influence decisions. Curious by nature and question-driven. In-depth expertise in Category Management and related processes.
