Overview
IT Technical Operations Manager - Onsite NYC. This position is onsite Monday–Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. Available on weekends and holidays as needed. Multiple shifts available. Blue Mantis is seeking a highly skilled Technical Operations Manager with a robust background as a Technical Engineer, extensive server and network experience, and proven leadership in managing teams. The role requires a strong IT operations background with ITIL practices covering event, incident, change, and problem management. The manager will oversee multiple teams and serve as an escalation point for issues, communicating with customer managers, directors, and executives. Key responsibilities
Manage and lead several technical teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs. Serve as Incident Manager during critical outages. Work nights/weekends during the regular season schedule and major holidays as required. Regu larly work nontraditional hours to meet the needs of a globally distributed organization. Be on call and available during assigned shifts. Demonstrate strong people management and leadership skills, prioritizing, executing, and delegating tasks under pressure. Establish clear objectives and priorities for the team and monitor progress to meet goals. Collaborate with departments and managers to develop effective IT solutions with cross-functional alignment. Act as the primary escalation point for customer issues, providing expert resolution and support. Oversee ITIL processes (event, incident, change, and problem management) to ensure efficient operations. Monitor and analyze KPIs for internal teams and customer outcomes, implementing improvements as needed. Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to staff on new technologies and troubleshooting procedures. Identify and implement ITIL process improvements for customers. Ensure continuous alignment of team activities with customer requirements and organizational objectives. Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency by applying best practices in operations. Communicate effectively with customer managers, directors, and executives with professionalism and clarity. Continuously reprioritize responsibilities to adapt to changing team and customer needs. Provide leadership and foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Technical Engineer with server and network management expertise. Extensive experience managing technical teams with strong leadership track record. Deep understanding of ITIL processes including event, incident, change, and problem management. Exceptional communication skills to interact with customer managers, directors, and executives. Strong analytical skills with experience monitoring and improving KPIs. Ability to switch context between different technologies and customer requirements based on priority. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment. Passion for challenges and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding role. Preferred skills
ITIL, PMP or related certifications. Technical certifications in networking, server, or cloud. Technical background in SQL Server. Experience with advanced monitoring tools and systems. Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset. Experience in complex, multisite environments. Proven track record of IT process improvements. Compensation and benefits
Base Salary Range: $160,000 – $195,000. This range reflects market pay structures; individual salaries are determined by factors including skills, education, experience, and internal equity. EEO and notice
