Fox Construction Inc., a long‑standing general contractor in Steamboat Springs, is seeking an experienced Estimator / Project Manager for high‑end residential and commercial projects.
Salary Range: $85,000+ per year, based on experience + Performance Bonus plus Relocation Assistance
Job Overview Fox Construction Inc., Steamboat Springs' longest‑standing general contractor, is seeking an experienced Estimator / Project Manager to oversee high‑end residential and commercial projects from preconstruction to closeout. This dual‑role opportunity puts you at the center of planning, budgeting, procurement, and execution, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the exceptional quality standards we're known for.
You’ll work closely with clients, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams to build lasting structures — and lasting relationships — across the Yampa Valley.
Key Responsibilities Estimating & Preconstruction
Prepare detailed cost estimates at all design stages (conceptual, DD, CD).
Manage full bid/RFP processes, including scopes of work and subcontractor selection.
Perform cost analysis and value engineering reviews.
Lead design‑build preconstruction meetings and early‑phase planning.
Issue LOIs, negotiate subcontracts, and coordinate early project deliverables.
Project Management
Lead project execution from start to finish, including mobilization, construction, and close‑out.
Collaborate with site superintendents to manage schedules, safety, and quality control.
Conduct routine jobsite visits and resolve field issues proactively.
Host weekly subcontractor meetings and O.A.C. sessions.
Track change orders, budgets, and subcontractor performance metrics.
Client Relations & Closeout
Manage final walkthroughs, punch lists, and client handover.
Oversee preparation of O&M manuals, warranties, and as‑built documentation.
Lead one‑year warranty check‑ins and ensure client satisfaction.
Participate in internal post‑project reviews to refine best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field.
10+ years in estimating and project management roles within residential/commercial construction.
In‑depth knowledge of building codes, sequencing, and subcontractor management.
Skilled in construction software, spreadsheets, and estimating tools.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation.
English fluency required; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions.
