Above Ground Pool Product Manager – POOLCORP Location: Remote within the U.S.

Pay: $75,000 – $80,000 plus annual bonus, company vehicle, benefits, and more.

Job Summary The Above Ground Pool Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic plans for product categories, managing vendor relationships, and driving innovation to achieve growth and profitability. The role oversees the product development lifecycle, including market analysis, pricing strategies, promotional plans, training programs, and new product launches, while acting as the primary resource for product expertise and industry insights.

Responsibilities

Develops and leads the strategic plan for the category and manages the vendor and product portfolio. Evaluates and understands our strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats and is aware of market intel and share analysis.

Creates and manages sample and display programs.

Acts as the go‑to resource for product and programs, provides field and product guidance. Manages customer, employee, and vendor conflict resolution and serves as the voice of customer, content liaison to internal teams and the industry.

Acts as the visionary for the category, manages new product introductions, obsolescent inventory management, and collaborates with marketing and other internal departments to ensure vision, strategy, and timeline alignment.

Ensures vendor and internal initiatives are aligned, identifies process and product gaps and creates solutions. Identifies best practices and scales, develops and maintains sales tools and resources, MCPL and data management, forecasting and manages KPIs.

Creates training content for internal and customer use, ensures success of factory training events, dealer conferences, and trade shows.

Analyzes consumer needs and current market trends to determine new product opportunities and prioritize according to our business strategy.

Creates product strategy documents that describe business cases, market requirements, pricing & positioning, marketing strategy.

Assesses current competitor private label offerings and activity, seeking opportunities for differentiation and disruption.

Creates buy‑in for the product vision, internally and externally, through communications, leadership, and acting as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.

Drives product launches by forming strong partnerships with Vendors, Sales, Marketing, Sourcing, Pricing, and other teams to meet category growth objectives.

Builds solid relationships with vendors to develop & execute promotional plans and product launches.

Serves as the subject matter expert for your products, solutions, and suppliers, providing training and market intelligence to the field to grow revenue, profitability, and market share for your channel.

Provides direction to Sourcing on price target, levels, discounts, costs, and other profit components to maximize category profitability while growing share.

Contributes to annual management strategy discussions focused on improving sales execution and other actions to grow category share, gross profit, and gross margin % for the company.

Provides leadership, expertise, and guidance to help the organization achieve sales objectives and plans at different levels by working with field leadership.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business.

5 years of experience in product development and management.

Expertise with successful product launches preferred.

Significant experience in a dynamic product management role in consumer or industrial products.

Proven experience overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle including innovation assessment, competitive analysis, ROI, pricing, product launch, and promotional plans.

Highly effective cross‑functional team management.

Previous experience delivering finely tuned product marketing strategies.

Exceptional writing and editing skills combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills.

High level of competence with standard office software: MS Office, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

A valid driver’s license, a satisfactory driving record – no more than 2 violations within 3 years.
