AMT is seeking a

Senior Transportation Engineer, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience,

to join the transportation team in our

Richmond, VA

office. This position will support a variety of projects which may involve data collection, existing condition and alternative analysis evaluation for engineering reports, development of horizontal and vertical alignments, performing cross section and superelevation design, roadside barrier design, ADA curb ramp design, roadway modeling, and providing design support for erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, right-of-way plans, utility relocation plans, permit application drawings, and traffic related plans. We provide an Excellent Work / Life Balance and an opportunity to work Hybrid (Combination of Office and Remote). 2-3 days in the office is expected with flexibility to work remotely other days. Responsibilities

Collect and analyze data for engineering reports and project development Develop horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, and superelevation design Design roadside barriers and ADA curb ramps Prepare roadway models and support erosion and sediment control plans Support stormwater management plans, right-of-way plans, and utility relocation plans Prepare permit application drawings and traffic-related plans Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution 8+ years of experience as a highway designer working on Federal/State DOT projects Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure Required Knowledge of civil engineering design and construction surveying concepts Experience designing roadway transportation projects, including cost estimating, specifications and highway plans for construction bid packages Experience with State and Federal transportation design standards; Virginia design procedures and standards a plus Experience with Microstation and InRoads; latest version of Power Inroads SS4, Connect Edition or Open Roads a plus Prior work experience with Municipal and State DOTs, with VDOT and/or Virginia localities a plus Experience with advanced intersection and roadway corridor modeling; AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D; GIS applications such as ArcGIS or Google Earth; SignCAD, AutoTurn, and/or ASTA project scheduling is a plus Experience with MS Office including Word and Excel Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, project managers, supervisors, and other team members Why Join AMT?
