Overview

Oxford Area High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our Boys Lacrosse program. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the game, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field. This role involves coaching as well as fostering a positive team culture and promoting academic success among players. Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive training program that enhances players' skills and understanding of the game. Plan and conduct daily practices, ensuring that all players receive instruction tailored to their skill level. Organize and manage all aspects of the lacrosse program, including scheduling games, transportation, and equipment management. Foster a positive, inclusive team environment that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among players. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team expectations, schedules, and progress. Monitor academic performance of student-athletes and provide guidance to support their academic success. Collaborate with other coaches and staff to promote the overall athletic program at Oxford Area High School. Stay current with the latest coaching techniques, rules, and trends in lacrosse. Attend all games, practices, and team events, including pre-season and post-season activities. Evaluate and provide feedback on players’ performance and development throughout the season. Qualifications

Previous coaching experience, preferably in lacrosse at the high school or collegiate level. Strong knowledge of lacrosse rules, strategies, and techniques. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with players, parents, and staff. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the season. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. A valid driver’s license and the ability to transport student-athletes to games and events. A passion for promoting the values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship within the athletic program.
