General Information: The Incoming Quality Inspector performs inspection of all incoming components and labels and ensures compliance with all applicable customer and regulatory requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions (WI), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). What are we looking for? High school diploma/GED with proficiency in math; college courses preferred. Minimum two years of experience in quality inspection or mechanical, industrial, or technical fields. Receiving incoming labels into SAP and performing inspection of labels using customer standards and scanning software. Recording and scanning inspection results in the appropriate database. Completing form, fit, and function testing on new components. Performing transactions in SAP to contain components and labels during inspection and to release for production accordingly once inspections are complete. Maintaining customer component inspection standards. Creating KDC Label Standards used to ensure customer and regulatory compliance in the Label room and Production Department. Communicating quality alerts to management and Quality Inspectors. Placing any components or labels not meeting the quality standards on hold for further quality review. Navigating through SAP to investigate and troubleshoot quality issues and to contain non-conforming components and labels. Performing AQL inspections on potential out-of-spec components and labels, as required. Communicating with management and/or vendors/suppliers on quality issues. Directing and performing all work in a manner consistent with the company’s quality system and FDA good manufacturing practices, including maintaining a clean and orderly production area. Following, promoting, and enforcing KDC’s safety and environmental policies, practices, and procedures. Completing SOPs, Work Instructions, ANSI/ASQC inspection standards, SAP transactions, label standards, and other paperwork according to established company policy. Maintaining confidentiality of customer information, inspection standards, quality records, and other sensitive and confidential information. Exhibiting regular and predictable attendance and working overtime as needed due to workplace demands. Performing other related duties as required.
