Packaging Specialist
The Packaging Specialist supports daily packaging operations to ensure timely, efficient, and compliant execution of production schedules. This role focuses on maintaining adherence to cGMP, FDA, and quality standards while driving continuous improvement in packaging processes, efficiency, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities Operational Support & Coordination
Coordinate daily packaging activities to meet production timelines and project schedules.
Monitor packaging operations for compliance with cGMP, FDA, and internal quality standards.
Ensure accurate completion and maintenance of batch records, logs, and deviation documentation.
Coordinate materials, equipment, and labor resources for optimal efficiency.
Track production schedules and address delays to maintain workflow continuity.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Support investigations of deviations, non-conformances, and CAPAs.
Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance to ensure adherence to SOPs and packaging standards.
Maintain compliance with internal policies, cGMP, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in audits and support corrective action implementation as needed.
Process Improvement & Technology
Identify and implement opportunities to enhance packaging efficiency, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
Assist in integrating new technologies and automation into packaging operations.
Analyze performance data and operational metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaboration & Communication
Work cross-functionally with Quality, Supply Chain, Project Management, Engineering, and R&D to resolve bottlenecks and streamline processes.
Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals.
Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery of goods and services.
Administrative & SAP Responsibilities
Create and manage purchase requisitions (PRs) in SAP for services, contracts, equipment, and consumables.
Ensure PR accuracy and alignment with end-user and project requirements.
Training, Safety & Compliance
Support employee training and promote adherence to SOPs and good packaging practices.
Enforce safety policies and maintain a clean, compliant working environment.
Participate in safety programs and comply with Safety, Health, and Environmental policies.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree
in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Electrical, Mechanical, Production, or a related field.
5–11 years of experience
in packaging or operations, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry.
Experience with
pharmaceutical MDI (Metered Dose Inhaler)
packaging is strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of
cGMP, FDA regulations , and pharmaceutical packaging operations.
Proficiency in
SAP
and packaging data analysis tools.
Knowledge of packaging documentation, cGMP records, and SOP creation/revision.
Experience with
quality system compliance
and regulatory audits.
Excellent
communication, problem-solving , and time management skills.
Strong computer skills, including
Microsoft Office Suite .
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
High attention to detail, drive, and sense of urgency.
