Quality Control Manager
The Quality Control Manager oversees all QC and QA laboratory operations, ensuring products meet quality, safety, and performance standards. This role collaborates with R&D, Production, Inventory, and other departments to drive continuous improvement, maintain regulatory compliance, and support efficient manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage QC laboratory operations and personnel
Oversee testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products
Investigate and resolve customer complaints; maintain complaint documentation
Maintain and update QC databases, records, and reports
Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of lab equipment
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for QC processes
Collaborate with chemists and production teams to improve formulations and processes
Provide technical support across departments including Production, Sales, R&D, and Regulatory
Participate in daily operations meetings to align on quality and production issues
Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations; contribute to required reporting
Train, supervise, and evaluate QC staff; manage scheduling and performance reviews
Support regulatory submissions and documentation such as Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and Certificates of Compliance (COCs)
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field (required)
Minimum 10 years of experience in QC/QA or laboratory management
Proven leadership experience managing laboratory staff and quality systems
Strong understanding of analytical testing methods and lab equipment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems (e.g., BatchMaster)
Experience with regulatory and environmental compliance reporting
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Familiarity with safety protocols and handling of chemicals
Project management experience is a plus
