Overview Join Utah Valley University as the Operations Manager for the UVU Store, where you’ll play a vital role in leading and optimizing both store and warehouse operations. In this position, you’ll oversee teams responsible for sales, merchandising, and maintaining a clean, engaging retail environment at the main campus store, while also managing warehouse staff who handle product receiving, organization, and delivery to the store.

Responsibilities

Oversee warehouse operations; track KPIs for the warehouse such as time to receive product, time to deliver it to the store, and time on shelf for discounts. Create processes for quicker product deliveries to main campus and distribution of product to the sales floor. Enhance communication between warehouse team and sales teams/buyers. Implement new warehousing strategies such as bin locations to increase inventory tracking and online order fulfillment.

Maintain store cleanliness and merchandising standards. Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing. Oversee merchandising to align with brand standards and optimize sales. Plan and execute promotional campaigns and seasonal merchandising strategies. Establish a sales culture among part‑time staff that is engaging and friendly.

Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Develop, implement, and regularly update SOPs for store and warehouse operations. Ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with university policies and retail regulations. Implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and staff productivity.

Conduct cycle counts for accurate inventory levels and report and fix discrepancies. Perform regular inventory cycle counts based on NetSuite reporting. Analyze inventory trends and support purchasing decisions based on sell‑through figures.

Ensure data accuracy in inventory management systems. Hire and train sales and warehouse staff. Recruit, onboard, and train team members for both store and warehouse roles. Foster a culture of accountability, customer service, and operational excellence.

Fulfill online store orders and distribute internal orders to appropriate parties. Manage the processing and fulfillment of online orders being shipped outside of campus.

Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.

Two or more years of retail management experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree and work experience in logistics and/or merchandising is preferred.

Knowledge of inbound and outbound shipping processes, management techniques, hiring techniques, and store merchandising strategies.

Interpreting data and making data‑driven decisions, staying organized with multiple projects at once, motivating employees to enhance customer satisfaction.

Ability to work well with other store departments and external teams, and ability to work proactively and cooperatively.
