We are seeking a
Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist
to join our team! You will provide recovery-oriented support and case management services to residents of long-term care facilities and their families. Opportunities may exist for future transition to providing counseling services. Our care addresses a wide range of issues from anxiety and depression to severe mental illnesses and end-of-life concerns. As part of a multidisciplinary team, our clinicians significantly impact residents' quality of life by solving problems, delivering clinical care, and serving as a critical link in their care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide Therapeutic Behavioral Services by consulting with a licensed clinician to meet individual needs. Develop service plans for supports or care coordination, including healthcare and behavioral health treatment plans. Implement linkage, interventions, treatment options, and crisis prevention services. Deliver services to individual or group clients. Train support staff on client triggers, de-escalation techniques, and interventions per treatment plans. Foster positive relationships with outside contacts. Collaborate with Resident Care Coordinators and staff to review resident needs and communicate findings. Maintain open communication with facility staff and adhere to all standards, policies, and regulations, including legal and ethical guidelines. Conduct oneself professionally and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Consult with the clinical supervisor on unfamiliar cases or requests. Qualifications/Education: Master’s degree in counseling or marriage and family therapy, with eligibility for licensure in the practicing state. Knowledge: Population-specific interventions and care following treatment plans. Rules and regulations governing behavioral health practice. Organizational policies and procedures. Skills: Data gathering and analysis of physiological, socioeconomic, behavioral, and emotional information. Training in social/emotional well-being, stress, anger management, and life skills. Accurate evaluation and appropriate intervention skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. High initiative, judgment, and discretion. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships. Abilities: React calmly in emergencies. Work collaboratively within a healthcare team. Evaluate and recommend quality improvements. Handle sensitive information confidentially.
