Ability to assess students using multiple modalities of assessment and analyze data to inform instruction
Ability to establish and maintain a professional rapport with other teachers and staff in the classroom
Ability to manage and direct adults in the classroom
General Job Description
Prepare lessons that align to the NYS learning standards
Effectively plan, teach, and assess lessons designed to meet the needs of individual students and the NYS learning standards
Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of each student, as outlined in their IEPs and individual needs
Create an organized classroom with clear expectations and procedures
Provide case management services for students with IEPs
Track progress toward IEP goals and report to students, parents, and teachers
Analyze various points of data and modify instructional goals that promote the highest level of student learning
Participate in student meetings with Newark staff and family members and the CSE
Communicate regularly with family members, keeping them informed of their child’s progress
Performing such other duties as may be assigned by the Building Principal as deemed necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position
NYSED Teacher Certification- Teacher of Students with Speech-Language Disabilities (TSSLD) or Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH); NYS Speech-Language Pathology License/CF Candidates encouraged to apply- CFY supervision opportunities available
