PURPOSE
This counselor position is licensed at a post-master's degree level. The primary responsibility is to provide brief and intensive therapy to individuals, children, adolescents, families, and/or groups to address their identified problems, aiming to improve or restore their skills and abilities for successful life management and positive interaction within families and the community. Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Graduation from an approved and accredited school with a master's degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related human service field. License:
Current license in the State of New Mexico at the master's level, such as Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Experience:
Completion of internships during or after obtaining the master's degree, with appropriate supervision. Certification:
CPR certification. Preferred Qualifications
License:
LCSW or LPCC. Experience:
Experience in treating substance abuse, group work, and family/couples counseling. Additional skills include the ability to work with children of all ages and their families, and fluency in English and Spanish.
