JOB
PURPOSE
The Athletic Trainer ensures the health, safety, and wellbeing of AIS student-athletes through the delivery of high-quality sports medicine services and injury prevention programming. This is a full-time, 12-month position supporting the AIS Athletics Department across all sports in Secondary School (Grades 6-12).
The Athletic Trainer collaborates with coaches, school nurses, families, and external healthcare providers to deliver proactive care and responsive treatment, helping students perform at their best and recover with confidence.

professionalism. RESPONSIBILITIES The Athletic Trainer plays an essential role in supporting the physical wellbeing of student-athletes, including:
Deliver Comprehensive Athletic Training
Services
Provide prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for Grades 6–12, referring athletes to appropriate physicians and other healthcare professionals as necessary. Implement taping, bracing, and physical therapy interventions as
needed Provide medical coverage for home competitions and travel support for varsity events when possible Conduct ImPACT baseline and post-injury concussion
testing Maintain safety and hygiene of athletic training spaces and
equipment Ensure hydration is available for all practices and
competitions Assist the Athletic Department with gameday set up and break
down
Facilitate Clear and Timely
Communication
Coordinate with parents, coaches, school nurses, and physicians regarding injuries, return-to-play, and medical care plans Share updates on student health and injury status with appropriate
stakeholders Collaborate with the Athletic Director on weekly schedules and coverage
needs
Maintain Records, Compliance, and
Training
Manage and document athlete physicals using the school’s EMR
system Maintain licensure, certifications, and required
CEUs Lead CPR and First Aid training sessions for coaches, when
necessary Oversee coaching staff CPR certifications and emergency
preparedness
Manage Inventory and
Resources
Maintain and order medical and training
supplies Support seasonal athletic eligibility
reporting Keep Emergency Action Plans up to
date
Contribute to the School
Community
Engage actively with the broader AIS community through events and school

Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field (Master’s degree preferred) Professional Experience:
3–5+ years of experience as an athletic trainer (school setting preferred) Licenses and
Certifications:
Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) Licensed to practice in the state of Georgia First Aid/CPR Instructor Certification Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
