Responsibilities Job Summary Under the supervision of a radiologist, the CAT Scan Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with independence and initiative. Responsibilities include data entry, coverage at various locations, and adhering to safety protocols.
Essential Functions
Review patient information and history, transport patients, position them safely, perform CT procedures, and ensure patient safety and comfort. Administer contrast materials and respond to contrast reactions as needed. Obtain and evaluate images for quality assurance using RIS, PACS, and other systems.
Coordinate daily workflow and department activities.
Maintain equipment, perform quality control tests, and contact service for repairs.
Rotate through department locations based on staffing and volume.
Participate in staff training and orientation.
Maintain a clean, safe environment and manage inventory.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education
Associate's Degree in CT physics and cross-sectional anatomy (Preferred)
High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Experience
More than 10 months of clinical CT experience or 1 year of general radiology experience (Required)
Licenses and Certifications
AZ Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) or AZ Certified Nuclear Med Technologist (CNMT) AND Certified CT Technologist (CTCT). A temporary license is acceptable initially, with a permanent license required within 12 months.
Current ARRT or NMTCB licensure (Required)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
