Overview
Seeking BE/BC Sports Medicine Orthopedic Surgeon to join our hospital-employed practice. The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained in sports medicine with expertise in shoulder and knee arthroscopy, and an interest in expanding services to include elbow and hip arthroscopy. This is an opportunity to grow a high-demand sports medicine program within a well-established orthopedic group supported by a strong referral network. Responsibilities
Office Hours/Work Schedule: Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM; Friday 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM; No evening or weekend office hours. Staffing: 6 providers, 8 clinical staff (CMA, LPN, Ortho Techs), 4 front office, 2 surgery schedulers, radiology, and athletic training support. Call Schedule: Call is 1:4 (if applicable). Clinical Load: 25–40 patients/day in clinic; office procedures include joint injections, aspirations, pin removals, and cast applications/removals; 4–8 procedures/day in hospital. Sports Medicine: Lead and grow the sports medicine service line with procedures such as shoulder and knee arthroscopy, complex ligament reconstruction/revision, meniscal debridement/repair, chondroplasty/cartilage restoration, rotator cuff/labral repairs, and potential elbow and hip arthroscopy. Trauma: Manage a steady volume of community trauma; not a designated trauma center; typical cases include long bone, periarticular, pediatric, periprosthetic, hand/foot fractures; proximal humerus and hip fractures common; most open fractures and complex pelvic/acetabular trauma are referred out. Joint Replacement Surgery: Primary and revision arthroplasty including knee, hip, and shoulder, with collaboration from an arthroplasty specialist; elbow arthroplasty could be a future addition. Hand Surgery: Current services include carpal/cubital tunnel release, compression neuropathy management, soft tissue mass excisions and thumb CMC arthroplasty; opportunities to expand into flexor tendon repair, Dupuytren’s, and wrist ligament repair. Pediatrics: No inpatient pediatric cases; outpatient pediatric sports procedures, including knee/shoulder arthroscopy, patellofemoral realignment, chondral lesion management, fracture care, and benign lesion excision. Foot & Ankle: In-house podiatrists perform most procedures; orthopedic collaboration welcome for ankle arthroscopy, ligament repair/reconstruction, and chondral lesion management. Spine: No in-house spine surgeries; cases referred to regional neurosurgeons with on-site pain management support. Equipment: Office – cast saw and x-ray; Hospital – on-site equipment including CPMs, patient lifts, air mats, Hana table, Wixon, Beach chair, peg-board positioning devices, mini C-arm and standard C-arm. Board-eligible or Board-certified orthopedic surgeon Fellowship-trained in sports medicine with expertise in shoulder and knee arthroscopy Interest in expanding services to elbow and hip arthroscopy Ability to lead and grow a sports medicine service line; strong bone-cutting and revision experience preferred The Community:
