Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens. Provides laboratory support functions.
What You Will Do
Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy
Processes specimens for laboratory testing.
Additional Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Education
High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and
Other Accredited Program: Formal Training from an accredited phlebotomy school or medical assistant program (preferred)
Work Experience
Less than 1 year Entry level (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, co-workers.
Takes responsibility for self-development
Working knowledge of preanalytic laboratory and safety policies and procedures.
Display initiative to perform job duties
Ability to work in fast paced environment
Ability to multi-task
Competent on venipuncture for all ages.
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Phlebotomy Certification (Preferred Upon Hire)
