Substitute School Nurse
Location: Flagstaff, AZ Summary: A Substitute School Nurse is needed to provide essential medical treatment and personal care services to students and staff within the school setting. This position involves administering first aid, medication, and performing health screenings, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for the school community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assess and treat injuries and illnesses among students and staff, providing first aid and appropriate care as needed.
Administer medications as specified, recording dosages and times, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
Communicate any adverse reactions to medication or treatment to the principal and parents.
Conduct routine health screenings, including vision, hearing, and lice checks.
Sterilize equipment and supplies to maintain a hygienic environment.
Maintain accurate health records for students, including vaccination and test information.
Fulfill other nursing duties as required by the school.
Qualifications: The ability to perform all essential nursing duties satisfactorily is required. This encompasses a comprehensive understanding of medical procedures relevant to a school setting, along with the capability to address the health needs of ill, injured, or disabled individuals.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for maintaining accurate health records and ensuring the administration of proper care.
Education and/or Experience: Candidates must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or EMT license, demonstrating the qualifications and experience necessary to provide high-quality nursing care in a school environment.
