JMT is seeking Transportation Construction Inspection professionals to join our Central PA Team. Our primary clients are the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and other Local Government agencies throughout our Central PA Region.
The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations. Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials. Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes. Gather and maintain record documents. Make field notes and computations. Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening. Preferred Skills
Client requested certifications, including: NICET Level 1 or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction. NECEPT-Bituminous and Concrete Field Technician. CDS NeXtGen and/or ECMS Wave 5. Required Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience). 1-4 years of Construction Inspection Experience. Preferred Experience
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management. Previous PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike Inspection Experience.
