Job Information Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
A Brief Overview Produces two-dimensional and three-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for use by physicians in diagnosis of disease and study of malfunction of organs.
Education Qualifications
Completion of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program through an accredited organization or on-the-job training in ultrasound that led to registry. Required
Experience Qualifications
Customer service experience. Preferred
Experience in Ultrasound Preferred
Experience in a hospital or clinical setting. Preferred
Skills and Abilities
Experience utilizing imaging equipment
Licenses and Certifications
Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - ARDMS, ARDMS-Sonography, CCI-Sonography, or ARRT-Sonography are required
Basic Life Support - BLS required within 90 days of hire
What you will do
Selects appropriate equipment/transducer for ultrasound setup according to examination specifications.
Performs department exam protocols, explains process to patient, and assists in positioning.
Enters data into system accurately.
Participates in Quality Improvement evaluations.
Produces and records images of internal organs, maintains equipment, and ensures proper disinfection.
Participates in training students and performs high-level disinfection processes.
For Cardiac Sonographers, performs IV puncture and injects agents as needed.
Rotating call is required; Manhattan/Emporia exempt from call.
Accurately adds examination charges.
Maintains professional appearance and demonstrates excellent communication.
Contributes to team efforts, takes initiative, and is flexible.
Maintains CEUs and seeks educational opportunities.
Travel Requirements
20% travel to satellite locations as necessary.
Additional Requirements
Compliance with policies and standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Position is patient-facing.
Remote work is not applicable; on-site work only.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions Includes lifting, reaching, repetitive motions, and working in various conditions. Must meet vision requirements for depth perception and focus. Work involves exposure to various conditions and potential hazards, with specific durations outlined for each.
