In the role of Mechanical Construction Inspector, you'll: Demonstrate familiarity with construction materials, methods, and processes for buildings and facilities Inspect electrical, mechanical/HVAC, and site civil work Mentor junior staff and provide supervision as needed Collaborate with project teams and managers Interpret construction drawings and specifications, identifying discrepancies Document observations of construction progress Serve as the senior inspector on projects as required Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications: At least 5 years’ experience in construction inspection of mechanical/HVAC work on major transportation or infrastructure projects for public agencies such as PANYNJ, MTA/NYCT, NJ Transit, NYCDDC, NYCSCA NFPA Fire Protection System Certification and ICC M2 Mechanical Inspector Certification Excellent organizational and communication skills PE license in New York or New Jersey OSHA 30-hour training Experience with vertical transportation systems Preference for local candidates Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent Minimum of 5 years’ experience Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to work independently and in a team Successful passing of drug screening prior to hiring; ongoing random and cause testing Active participation in our employee-owned culture Our Values and Commitment: HDR is our company.
