McLaughlin Research Corporation (MRC) is seeking Systems and Mechanical Engineers to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI. These roles will support the Platform & Payload Integration department at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport. The successful candidate will apply mechanical and model-based systems engineering skills to develop, integrate, and provide lifecycle support for various launcher and payload systems, including unmanned undersea vehicles.

About NUWC The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) is the U.S. Navy's full-spectrum research, development, test and evaluation, engineering, and fleet support center for submarines, autonomous underwater systems, and weapons systems related to undersea warfare. The candidate must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Develop and interpret requirements, drawings, data sets, reports, and specifications.

Interface with project teams to define and implement engineering solutions to meet mission objectives.

Resolve programmatic and technical problems affecting cost, schedule, and performance.

Develop, document, and maintain test procedures, methods, and tools.

Integrate technical, cost, and safety considerations into product definitions to comply with Department of Defense requirements.

Perform system analyses, design studies, testing, and data collection/analysis.

Job Requirements

Bachelor of Science in STEM fields.

2+ years of engineering experience.

Must be eligible to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with submarine launchers, weapons handling, weapons stowage, and/or Unmanned Underwater Vehicles is a plus.
