IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.**Responsibilities:**You will be responsible for and involved in all aspects of aircraft 3D model creation and validation:* Work shoulder to shoulder with technicians gathering the data* Review, critique and approve data package deliverables from scanning team* Interface regularly with end users of data to receive and fulfill custom data requests* Lead and mentor younger engineers on your team**Qualifications You Must Have:*** Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience* Higher education may substitute for relevant experience* Understanding of engineering principles and practices* Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools* Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams**Qualifications We Prefer:*** Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5* Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis* Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry* Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processesAt Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technology and best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
