Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas. POSITION OBJECTIVE Provide leadership and function as a Civil Engineer for the Civil Maintenance department to and coordinate activities of Civil maintenance. Provide civil maintenance engineering support to maintenance crew daily works Oversees daily Civil maintenance works, ensuring smooth operations, high-quality workmanship, competitive costs, and a clean and safe working environment. This position will strive for continual improvement in every area of Maintenance involvement, resulting ultimately in a profitable and competitive position for our Company. Perform other duties as assigned. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY Project Management:
Demonstrate ability to work with minimal instruction and is capable of self-directed work scheduling and management. Maintain and audit equipment historical files. Prepare budget and cost estimations for new B1 projects as per B2 requests, incorporating a review of existing site conditions for accurate cost assessments. Additionally, establish standards for the installation of concrete foundations, concrete structures, and steel structures in accordance with U.S. Standards, IBC (International Building Code), ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials), ANSI (American National Standards Institute), AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction), OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), and ACI (American Concrete Institute). Lead and Facilitate the Fulfillment of Product Delivery and Commitments:
Provide Maintenance support to the Operating Units and support departments which will enable the assigned areas to achieve smooth operation, manufacture high-quality products and avoid unscheduled process interruptions. This will be achieved by utilizing best practices, applicable codes & specifications, planning, failure-root cause analysis, initiation and development of continuous improvement techniques, and maintenance procedures, practices and processes. Initiate Action and as the Critical Liaison:
To coordinate with multiple internal departments, cross- functional representatives, and key external contacts/decision makers on various decision-making processes. Cost Control:
Manage Maintenance Unit costs as measured by Monthly Management Reports Analysis of cost deviations and causes of costs; initiation of cost efficiencies; identification of inefficiencies and recommendations to correct; analyze budget trends, develop and recommend budget requirements; control overtime to below 5%. Leadership and Staff Development:
Develop each individual's talents to the fullest; creating an environment that supports collaboration, cross-functional team work, and information sharing. Communicate, lead and motivate high performance expectations. THM:
Promote cleanliness and order through implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant like new condition. QUALIFICATIONS Previous Related Experience Required No prior experience is required; other related engineering disciplines considered. Working knowledge of personal computers, FPC Texas and FPC USA Engineering Standards, specifications, policies and procedures, and Autocad preferred. Technical Skills Required to Perform This Job Personal computer usage. AS-400 Main Framem FPG Workflow, and MCA-Workflow system, Dayforce, e-Prism, KMS, etc. StaadPro Structure Analysis (basic knowledge) Autocad LT or full version (basic knowledge) Windows System Computer Microsoft Office programs Printer, or Plotter Ability to conduct inspections, measurements, and field analysis to ensure work is completed according to standards provided in scope of work, policy and procedure, engineering standards, etc. Education BS degree in Civil Engineering; other related engineering disciplines considered.
