Our client is currently seeking a
Mechanical Estimator
to join our growing Building Division. This individual will play a key role in estimating mechanical scopes for precast pump stations, including piping, pumps, valves, fittings, and control systems. The ideal candidate has a strong background in mechanical systems related to water/wastewater infrastructure and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical components of prefabricated pump stations. Review engineering drawings, specifications, and RFQs to develop takeoffs and cost summaries. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and production teams to ensure constructibility and scope alignment. Source pricing from vendors and subcontractors for mechanical equipment, materials, and labor. Participate in pre-bid meetings, scope reviews, and proposal development. Support handoff from estimating to operations and assist with change order pricing as needed. Qualifications
3–7 years of experience in mechanical estimating, preferably in the water/wastewater, MEP, or heavy civil sectors. Strong understanding of piping systems, pumps, valves, and mechanical assemblies. Experience reading and interpreting mechanical and structural drawings. Familiarity with prefabrication or modular construction is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar) is preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills. What they offer
