HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic

City and State Houston, Texas Job Summary The Sheet Metal Worker will fabricate, build, and install various types of metal structures and equipment for a project in the College Station area. Pay Range $15-$25 per hour Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to complete sheet metal projects with accuracy and precision. Ability to safely use machinery and tools involved in sheet metal work. Ability to follow directions. Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand product assignment. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Successful completion of an apprenticeship or a three-year, in-company training program required. Certification preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods lifting, reaching, and working on scaffolding and overhead structures. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times. Responsibilities and Duties: Select types of sheet metal according to building or design plans. Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on metal sheets. Drill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets. Install metal sheets with supportive frameworks. Fabricate or alter parts at construction sites. Maneuver and anchor large sheet metal parts. Fasten seams or joints by welding, bolting, riveting, or soldering. Job Duration:
