Job Requirements
Position Summary The Radiologic Technologist will be responsible for performing general radiographic procedures at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. The Technologist will ensure compliance with all SC DHEC Title B Rules and Regulations for Radiation Control. The Technologist serves as a liaison between patients, licensed practitioners, and other support team members. They must remain sensitive to patient needs through effective communication, assessment, monitoring, and care. As part of the healthcare team, they participate in quality improvement and continually assess their professional performance. Minimum Requirements
Education Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology Experience None required License/Registration/Certifications Registered by ARRT as an RT (R) SCRQSA certification Current CPR certification Preferred Requirements
Education Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology Experience 1-2 years’ experience in a physician practice License/Registration/Certifications None specified Core Job Responsibilities
Maintain accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure techniques Apply and maintain knowledge of radiation safety and protection Ensure proper maintenance of imaging equipment Understand human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology Perform patient care activities, including greeting patients, obtaining vital signs, and medical history Triaging patients based on severity of need Perform procedures such as EKGs and pulse oximetry Set up surgical trays, clean instruments, and sterilize equipment Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections after demonstrating competency Maintain cleanliness and stock examination rooms Review lab reports, identify abnormalities, alert physicians, and ensure reports are signed off Maintain imaging supplies in coordination with the Practice Manager Schedule imaging appointments at other facilities as directed Communicate abnormal lab results to patients and document discussions Manage patient calls related to prescriptions, lab results, and referrals Coordinate with reception for scheduling and patient flow Ensure proper ordering of procedures and tests Handle patient access activities, including documentation and appointment management Attend educational seminars to stay current with imaging laws and practices Perform additional duties as assigned
