Overview
Crafco, Inc. has an opening for a Receiving Specialist at our manufacturing plant in Chandler, AZ. We are seeking an experienced and meticulous Receiving Specialist with a strong background in receiving operations, inventory management, and forklift operation to ensure accurate and efficient processing of all incoming shipments. The primary receiver will oversee unloading, inspection, counting, and verification of all incoming parts, supplies, and materials. You will collaborate with the purchasing team, stockroom supervisor, and parts shippers to coordinate parts to their designated locations and document it in the computer system. The role involves receiving shipments from carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and international sources, and entering receipt information into the SAP system. The Receiving Specialist may also serve as a backup for the parts shipper when needed to ensure continuity of operations. Responsibilities
Receive and Inspect Shipments:
Thoroughly check packing slips to verify accuracy of parts and quantities; ensure items meet quality standards; document discrepancies or damages; label and stage materials with part numbers before transferring to the stockroom. Inventory and Order Management:
Use SAP to manage inventory, track orders, and update receipt records; perform regular audits; label and stage materials correctly; place materials in proper stock locations; move finished goods from Quality Control to the stockroom safely and timely; update SAP for new or overflow locations; ensure proper stock rotation and accurate part revision levels. Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with inventory control, purchasing, and quality teams to maintain accuracy; participate in continuous improvement efforts related to receiving processes and inventory control; communicate clearly with purchasing, inventory control, engineering, stockroom personnel, material handlers, Shipping Specialist, and quality teams. Shipment Handling:
Efficiently receive and process shipments from UPS and FedEx; manage international shipments with knowledge of customs regulations and documentation; handle bills of lading and back up shipping operations as needed. Forklift Operation:
Operate forklifts to unload and move shipments within the warehouse; maintain safe operation with daily inspections and a clean forklift; perform safe unloading, moving, and storage of materials. Computer Skills, Inventory Management & SAP Proficiency:
Enter receipts, perform inventory audits, manage stock locations, and maintain accurate records in SAP or ERP systems; use Microsoft Outlook for email. Must be willing to work overtime and various shifts when needed. Back-up Shipping Department as needed. Qualifications
High School Diploma. Minimum of three years of experience in logistics and receiving operations. Minimum of three years of forklift operation experience with a proven safety record. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in checking packing slips and inventory records. Strong inventory mindset to ensure accurate tracking of all incoming materials and parts. Computer skills: proficiency in SAP or ERP systems for inventory and order management. Strong understanding of receiving processes, including handling shipments from UPS, FedEx, and international suppliers. Cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment. Accuracy and timeliness of paperwork, reports, files, forms and proper routing. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to stand, walk, and lift packages regularly. Must be able to operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment safely. Demonstrated safe, professional performance and cooperative interaction with delivery personnel and other departments. Unloading and storage of materials should be done in a safe, appropriate manner. Any other duties assigned by the Stockroom/Shipping & Receiving Manager.
