Responsibilities
Plans and administers physical therapy programs for patients to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability within scope of practice.
Evaluates patients using designated assessment tools (History, Screening, Observations, and Evaluations as appropriate).
Identifies functional goals and prioritizes time-realistic goals for remediation, compensation, adaptation, or prevention of deficits.
Assesses and applies appropriate treatment methods; evaluates effectiveness of treatments.
Applies activity analysis for grading physical, perceptual/cognitive, and psychosocial demands to support functional abilities.
Communicates with patients, families, and team in both oral and written formats.
Assists in training others (staff, PTAs, aides, & students) as designated in competency expectations.
Seeks supervision or consultation when needed for clinical performance.
Contributes to improvement plans and uses feedback to guide practice.
Discharge planning: explains prognosis and functional limitations to patients and families and considers community resources.
Meets competency expectations and annual volumes as designated.
Interacts with patients, families, nursing, therapists, and other professionals; may involve community groups and universities.
Distributes and follows up on assigned duties with physical therapy staff and assistive personnel.
Qualifications
Physical Therapy Degree from an accredited program
NJ Physical Therapy License
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Provider Certification
Tact, initiative and judgment in the performance of duties
Physical stamina for lifting and therapeutic handling of patients
Preferred:
Doctoral Degree
Certifications and Licenses Required:
NJ Physical Therapy License; AHA BLS Provider Certification
Additional:
Completion of a pediatric affiliation
Scheduling

Some After School Hours
