h3>Contract Safety Advisor – St. James, MO
p>This is two months safety coverage in St. James, Missouri Starting November 17th and ending 6-8 weeks after start.
p>Must have ONE of the following in addition to 5 years of full-time safety experience in a contract or full-time capacity:
ul
li> Current OSHA 500/502; OR
li> Current BCSP Certification having either the CSP, SMS, CHST, OHST, GSP, ASP; OR
li> Degree in Safety or related field such as Engineering or Construction Management
ul
p>The individual in this position is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the Clients/Project Health and Safety Programs and Policies. The safety professional will work directly for the owner, general contractor, or subcontractor.
p>Safety Professionals will typically plan, lead, and direct the Health and Safety Policies and Procedures to site or client supervision.
h3>Job Qualifications
ul
li>Must have three to seven years, or more, experience in construction safety.
li>Must have:OSHA 500/502 – OR – BCSP – OR – Degree in Safety.
li>Must be able to conduct daily and weekly safety trainings.
li>Ability to walk and be on feet most of the workday.
li>Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
li>Ability to enter confined spaces.
li>Ability to carry up to 50-pounds of safety/construction related equipment.
li>Valid driver’s license.
li>Must successfully pass a pre-employment and criminal background check.
li>Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
li>Exceptional planning, time-management, and follow-through.
li>Able to exercise confidentiality and discretion.
li>Ability to review, analyze and discuss safety/risk information or data.
li>Ability to work effectively with a team and independently.
li>Effective verbal and written communication skills.
li>Ability to handle multiple project tasks and complex situations.

h3>Typical Job Responsibilities
ul
li>Conduct audits utilizing Pro Core.
li>Prevent accidents, injuries and claims by being visible in the field and “walking jobs” approximately 70% or more of your time.
li>Develop and deliver Safety Training and New Hire Orientations as mandated by Federal, State, Local and Client Programs.
li>Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Client or Project safety regulations, programs, and policies.
li>Prevent and mitigate employee injuries and illnesses.
li>Lead/Assist in accident investigations and return to work programs.
li>Perform job site safety audits on a daily or weekly basis per project demands.
li>Must have the ability to anticipate, develop, implement, and measure hazard controls and programs.
li>Inspire and coach employees to accomplish safety goals.
li>Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding injuries and claims.
li>Take a proactive, rather than reactive, approach in claims and injury reduction.
li>Act as the liaison for project drug and alcohol testing.
li>Other duties may be assigned as Client needs dictate and increasing skill level is demonstrated.
