Location:

Lamesa, TX 79331 (Onsite - Monday - Friday 24/7 Operation - This person will be required to be On-Call. Some weekends as needed.)

The client is a global performance materials company and is a leading producer of commercial silica used in the oil and gas industry and in a wide range of industrial applications. Over its 125-year history, the client has developed core competencies in mining, processing, logistics, and materials science that enable it to produce and cost‑effectively deliver more than 800 diversified products to customers across our end markets.

It is an industry leader in the production of products derived from diatomaceous earth, perlite, engineered clays, and non-activated clays. It is a state‑of‑the‑art leader in proppant storage, handling and well‑site delivery, and is dedicated to making proppant logistics cleaner, safer, and more efficient. The company has 26 operating mines and processing facilities and two additional exploration stage properties across the United States and is headquartered in Katy, Texas.

Essential Job Functions:

Guide, organize, and direct the hourly workforce in conjunction with superintendents and supervisors.

Manage plant operations and collaborate with maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained in satisfactory condition.

Control plant direct production and costs through effective planning and management.

Assure training, implementation, and maintenance of quality, health, safety, and environmental programs.

Assist the Plant Manager with development and execution of capital and annual budget plans.

Perform administrative duties required to meet job goals including planning, budgeting, scheduling and reporting.

Overall management, direction, and coordination of the production processes.

Plan, evaluate, recommend, implement, and monitor production to minimize costs and meet quality and regulatory needs for operations.

Coordinate interdepartmental needs.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Bachelor of Science in Geological Sciences or Engineering AND 10 years of progressively responsible experience in maintenance and/or production. OR High school diploma or GED AND 7 years of progressively responsible experience in maintenance. Mining and leadership experience is a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.

Proficient in relevant computer software programs.

Engineering in mining background preferred or equivalent background as Operations Superintendent or manager or in a similar field.

Minimum of 10 years or more years of progressive experience in mine supervisory/management with approximately 5 years’ experience in a management role.

Demonstrated track record of developing cost‑effective solutions with strong evidence of systemic thinking.

Strong project management skills, including budgeting, planning, monitoring capital expenditures and a strong record of accomplishment and increased scope of responsibility.

Must possess the physical ability to maneuver throughout the mine and the plant, ability to perform such activities such as climbing, reaching, stooping, kneeling crouching, standing, walking, pushing and pulling and the ability to lift approximately 10‑20 lbs.

Must be able to handle several tasks at one time and work well with a variety of personalities to achieve continuous improvement.

Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license.
