Posted Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 4:00 AM The Supervisor - Shipping & Receiving is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations related to shipping, receiving, order picking, staging, loading, and unloading. This role leads a team of warehouse associates, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The Supervisor will be actively involved in the hiring, training, and development of staff, promoting a positive work culture aligned with company values.
What You Will Do At Acme: Warehouse Operations & Order Fulfillment Supervised all shipping and receiving functions, including picking, staging, truck loading/unloading, and accurate order processing. Ensured outbound shipments were packed, labeled, and shipped on schedule, meeting all temperature-sensitive and food safety requirements. Completed invoices, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and system closeouts accurately and on time. Scheduled next-day pickups based on cold storage logistics and production needs. Filled in for the Warehouse Manager as needed to maintain smooth daily operations.
Cold Storage Supervision & Inventory Control Led first-shift warehouse teams, overseeing staffing, task delegation, and compliance with cold storage safety procedures. Monitored cold chain protocols, ensuring proper labeling, rotation, and storage temperatures for all perishable inventory. Performed regular cycle counts and audits, supporting accurate inventory levels and rotation practices. Used the M3 ERP system for receiving, picking, and managing inventory movement. Provided administrative and backup support to the Inventory Coordinator, maintaining accurate inventory documentation.
Safety, Equipment, & Team Development Conducted equipment inspections, enforced safety procedures, and reported maintenance issues to ensure operational safety. Drove forklifts and other powered equipment safely, maintaining awareness of pedestrian and facility safety. Promoted a collaborative team environment with cross-training to increase operational flexibility. Trained and mentored team members on safe, compliant handling of refrigerated and frozen goods.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting Tracked team and individual performance, offered feedback, and contributed to performance reviews. Coordinated PTO and shift coverage, ensuring uninterrupted operations. The supervisor will be directly involved in hiring, developing, and training production associates in conjunction with company policies, procedures and culture while maintaining high level of employee engagement and dedication to customer service.
Your Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, warehouse management, or related field. 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations. 1+ years of experience leading teams, or in supervisory role. Experience working within an FDA regulated facility preferred. Experience within an SQF or BRC certified manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in data entry and production software systems (e.g. M3, CAT2, or similar ERP/QC platforms).
Your Skills & Abilities: Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality. Great organizational and analytical skills. Computer literacy and ability to troubleshoot basic software. Must be able to communicate well with others. Ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible by adjusting priorities as needed. Excellent attitude and strong willingness to learn. Ability to work in cold temperature environments for long periods of time. Willing and able to stand for several hours at a time. Must be forklift certified and capable of operating material handling equipment in a cold storage environment. Completion of training programs as assigned and/or required including standard of work.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, as needed. Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual labor for extended periods. Ability to work in varying temperatures, including coolers and freezers. May be required to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment. Must be able to pass a pre-employment, post offer drug screen, physical, and background check.
