Job Summary
The
Sustainable Global Business Initiative (SGBI)
at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) promotes economic advancement and poverty alleviation in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and in developing countries, with a primary focus on Africa.
SGBI provides scholarships and supports faculty conducting international poverty alleviation projects. It also funds student participation in study trips to Sub-Saharan African countries and organizes local and global conferences, seminars, and webinars to advance business development and education in the region.
The
Program Manager
executes and supports the mission of the Sustainable Global Business Initiative (SGBI) within the Jindal School of Management (JSOM).
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree; Three to five years experience in a field relevant to the program; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The core responsibilities of the Program Manager include:
Manage
the financial accounts and reporting for the Ann and Jack Graves Foundation related to African initiatives (e.g., scholarships, conferences, entrepreneurial endowments).
Coordinate
and execute all logistics for annual conferences in Africa.
Collaborate
with faculty, students, and industry partners to design and implement local (Dallas) and international (Africa-focused) sustainability projects.
Organize
and coordinate the Annual Global Sustainability Experience Competition.
Recruit
sponsors and secure funding for SGBI conferences and projects.
Promote
SGBI initiatives and mission, both locally and internationally.
Liaise
with and support student organizations (e.g., SSB) to advance SGBI’s mission and activities.
Reconcile
financial statements related to the Ann and Jack Graves Foundation activities.
Report
on annual SGBI activities to UTD’s Endowment Office.
Monitor
the enrollment processes of African students accepted into the Jindal School of Management (JSOM).
Serve
as the primary liaison between JSOM’s graduate and undergraduate departments and the Office of International Study.
Manage
communication with JSOM study trip professors and participants regarding all deadlines and required documentation for travel and project initiation in Africa.
Maintain
the database of African university partners.
Organize
and facilitate monthly breakfast brainstorming sessions focusing on African affairs.
Meet
weekly with the SGBI Director to provide updates and coordinate all activities.
Other duties as assigned.
