Position Overview The Senior Intelligence Analyst will provide all-source intelligence analysis in direct support of U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Joint Intelligence Operations Center (JIOC). This position is critical to advancing USSTRATCOM's strategic deterrence, Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), global strike, missile defense, and electronic warfare missions. The analyst will deliver timely, accurate, and relevant intelligence products to inform senior leadership, planning staff, and decision-makers across DoD and the Intelligence Community (IC).
Key Responsibilities
Conduct near-, mid-, and long-term
all-source analysis
to support indications and warning (I&W), situational awareness, and operational/strategic planning.
Author and brief
Joint Intelligence Preparation of the Operational Environment (JIPOE)
products, strategic assessments, and complex intelligence studies conforming to DIA, DNI, and USSTRATCOM tradecraft standards.
Provide analytic support to
Target System Analysis (TSA)
and target folder development for nuclear, kinetic, and non-kinetic missions.
Research, synthesize, and fuse large volumes of classified/unclassified data into actionable intelligence.
Support the development and evaluation of
intelligence collection requirements ; provide feedback to IC reporting.
Maintain and leverage government-furnished databases, software, and visualization tools for strategic analysis, planning, and decision support.
Function as a subject matter expert and
Red Cell analyst , identifying adversary intent, courses of action, escalation thresholds, and decision-making processes.
Prepare and deliver high-level
briefings, white papers, and reports
to senior military and civilian leaders.
Support command exercises, training events, war games, and crisis response operations.
Collaborate and coordinate with IC partners, component commands, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated intelligence support.
Required Qualifications
10+ years
of direct intelligence analysis experience within DoD, the IC, or Combatant Commands (with at least 8 years focused on adversary function), or
12+ years of civilian intelligence/academic equivalent experience .
Demonstrated expertise in:
Strategic deterrence and NC3-related analysis
JIPOE development and delivery
Target Systems Analysis and targeting support
Authoring and publishing intelligence assessments at the national or COCOM level
Strong proficiency with analytic and visualization tools (e.g., MIDB, Palantir, Analyst Notebook, NSA Pulse, CIA WiRE, TAC, MIST)
Proven ability to brief senior leaders and produce written products that influence operational and strategic decisions.
Experience supporting the development of DoD and Combatant Command planning documents.
Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and multi-source integration skills.
Desired Skills
Experience conducting adversary
red team analysis
and supporting wargaming or exercises.
Familiarity with nuclear deterrence, missile defense, electronic warfare, and space/cyber-related intelligence missions.
Advanced degree in National Security Studies, International Relations, Strategic Studies, or related field.
Published/credentialed subject matter expertise in relevant adversary functions or strategic deterrence.
