Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity for a Per Diem Speech Language Pathologist to join the team at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital. The role involves providing speech-language pathology services under supervision, conducting therapy sessions, documenting treatments, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.

Job Responsibilities

Perform other duties as assigned.

Develop, implement, amend, evaluate, and plan speech‑language pathology treatment programs based on patient needs and goals.

Conduct group and individual therapy sessions; orient patients and caregivers to treatment plans.

Document treatments rendered and patient attendance accurately and confidentially, following department protocols and insurance guidelines.

Provide verbal reports at staff meetings and maintain active dialogue with peers regarding shared patients.

Interpret assessment findings to patients and families, explaining the nature of SLP services, recovery expectations, and community resources.

Assess patients’ communication function and screen for assessment needs; assign accurate FIM and WEE ratings.

Conduct SLP evaluations according to the P&P manual and consult with supervisors as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

MA/MS degree in Speech‑Language Pathology.

Certified in Speech‑Language Pathology (CCC‑SLP) through ASHA.

Licensed in Speech Pathology by the State of New York.

Continuing education required for NYS license maintenance.

BLS certification (American Heart Association–AHA or American Red Cross) or CPR/AED certification upon entry.

Preferred Qualifications

New York State Certification as Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD).
