Overview

Research Technician II - Pediatrics Infectious Diseases at Washington University in St. Louis. The Rosen lab is seeking a technician to assist with Klebsiella pneumoniae infection and vaccination experiments. Preferred candidates will have experience with immunologic experiments such as ELISAs or cytokine assays and will need to be comfortable working with mice. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and good record keeping practices are a must. Some weekend hours may be required. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Assist with research studies, experiments and assays, including collection of data, preparation of solutions and setup and maintenance of equipment. Perform data entry and maintain data files on research. Prepare tissue cultures, reagents, probe tests, etc. Comply with established safety procedures and maintain required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions. Ensure lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures. Assist with general lab maintenance and cleaning. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals. Qualifications

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education. No specific certification is required for this position. No specific work experience is required for this position. Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred. Driver's License: A driver’s license is not required for this position.
