Overview
Behavioral Health Associate - 2nd Shift at Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry. Responsible for providing personal care services to patients under the direction of intake, clinical or nursing leadership. Maintain a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward patients and staff. Recognize patient safety as a top priority and acknowledge and resolve complaints when patient needs are not met. Responsibilities
Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to patient safety and provide excellent customer service. Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive, and structured environment. Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision at 15-minute intervals, or per individualized supervision guidelines as needed. Document timely, accurate, and appropriate clinical information in the patient\'s medical record. Assist in providing a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for patients, significant others, and staff. Interact with patients, observe behaviors, and communicate significant observations to nursing staff. May oversee or assist with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, hydration, changing bed linens). May obtain patient vital signs, height and weight, and document in the patient record. Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups covering topics such as social skills, coping skills, anger management, and independent living skills. Engage patients in activities designed to achieve treatment goals. Complete and maintain required documentation; assist with follow-up and paperwork on incidents and events as needed. May provide transportation for patients or coordinate transportation with appropriate staff. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward patients and staff; acknowledge and resolve complaints as needed; prioritize patient safety. Other Functions
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. Education/Experience/Skill Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Six months or more experience working with the specific population of the facility preferred. Licenses/Designations/Certifications
CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements. Benefits
