Job Overview
Sylvan Learning Center is seeking a Part-time Chemistry, Physics or STEM Teacher to create a positive and fun learning environment for students. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating robust learning experiences, evaluating student progress, and communicating effectively with students and center staff. Responsibilities
Prepares for each instructional session and gathers materials as needed Greets students and initiates instruction to engage each student Instructs students according to the design of the Sylvan or school lessons Manages students, tasks, and time to create a balanced instructional session Evaluates and records student progress on program assignments Uses praise and encouragement to ensure students are engaged and inspired to learn Motivates students with Sylvan motivation criteria for specific achievements Communicates specific student needs to center staff Completes certification training on each Sylvan program taught to students Requirements
Currently working toward or possessing a four-year chemistry, physics, science, or math-related degree Familiarity with basic computer operation and tablet utilization Able to work after-school and holiday breaks Knowledge of general office equipment and Strong interpersonal and communication skills Proven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn Strong problem-solving and customer service skills Equal Employment Opportunity
