We are seeking a Behavioral Health Clinician to join our care team on the Spring Harbor Child & Adolescent Units. The role involves evaluating psychosocial needs of patients and families, providing diagnostic, preventive, and treatment services including individual, family, and group therapy. The clinician collaborates with other health/mental health professionals and provides consultation to the treatment team regarding patient and family social and environmental needs. Work is performed under general supervision in accordance with institutional and social work/clinical counselor policies. The Spring Harbor Child and Adolescent service is a 34-bed, 4-unit service providing care to youth from throughout Maine. Youth requiring acute mental health treatment are typically at imminent risk to themselves or others and require higher levels of care due to the severity of psychiatric symptoms. The multidisciplinary team includes medical providers, occupational therapists, behavioral health clinicians, behavior analysts, and nursing staff. Commonly treated diagnoses include: Depression; Disruptive Behavior Disorders; Emerging Psychotic Disorders; Anxiety Disorders; Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder; Substance Use Disorders. Unit treatment and programming include comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication management, individual and family therapy, occupational therapy interventions, and utilization of positive behavioral incentives and supports. Patients receive on-site academic tutoring and engage in recreational opportunities in the gym, outside playground and courtyard areas. Treatments include dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, milieu activities, and skills-based groups. Our units include several inpatient programs with distinct focus areas for different age and gender groups. 1 Northeast – Higher Acuity Adolescent Girls Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (ages 12-18) 1 East – Inpatient Child Psychiatry Unit (ages 4-12, typically up to 12) 1 West – Higher Acuity Adolescent Boys Inpatient Psychiatric Unit (ages 12-18) 1 Northwest – Inpatient Coed Adolescent Psychiatric Unit (ages 12-18) Summary
Level I : Behavioral Health Clinician I, working under a conditional license, provides comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. Responsibilities include assessments, treatment planning, and direct care through individual, group, and family therapy. Maintains clinical records, collaborates with community providers, and participates in team meetings to ensure effective treatment and discharge planning. Supervision is provided toward independent licensure. Level II : Behavioral Health Clinician II, working under an independent license, provides comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. Responsibilities include assessments, treatment planning, and direct care through individual, group, and family therapy. Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Addiction Treatment, or related field License/Certifications: Level I – LMSW-cc, LCPC-c, or LMFT-c; Level II – Licensed LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT Experience: Level I – Behavioral health experience including internship prior to becoming a conditionally licensed clinician; Level II – At least two years of behavioral health experience including employment as a conditionally licensed clinician Additional Information
