Description Of Work This Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) serves as a member of the assigned homes’ interdisciplinary teams with primary responsibilities of facilitating communication and maximizing swallowing safety for the individuals residing in those homes. Through direct and indirect services, the SLP provides evaluation, direct treatment, program planning, in‑service training, and consultation with staff to ensure integration of services and maintain required records and documentation. The SLP plays an integral role in the Person‑Centered Planning process and, through prescribed supports and strategies, serves to maximize individuals’ independence in daily routines and activities. This position fulfills the Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disability (ICF/ID) standards requiring that services described above are provided by qualified personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate communication and maximize swallowing safety for residents.

Provide evaluation, direct treatment, program planning, in‑service training, and staff consultation.

Maintain required records and documentation.

Integrate services within the interdisciplinary team and support Person‑Centered Planning.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Preferred)

Considerable knowledge of and skill in the application of professional speech and language theory, techniques, principles, and procedures.

Familiarity with a broad range of augmentative communication systems designed to develop functional communication for individuals who do not demonstrate typical communication abilities.

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work well within a team of professionals and a willingness to adapt to change when needed.

Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred but not required.

Licensure Candidates will be considered while completing licensure requirements. Licensure must be obtained prior to beginning employment.

Salary Range $64,211.00 - $105,949.00

Shift Hours 1st shift: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday (variation as needed)
