As a Pediatric Echocardiogram Sonographer, you will play a critical role in continuing the healing mission of Deaconess.

Job Overview As a Pediatric Echocardiogram Sonographer, you would be responsible for performing echocardiograms, two dimensional and M-mode with color flow Doppler and Doppler echocardiography on patients ranging from infant through adolescence. You will be responsible for analyzing heart and vascular structures to detect congenital heart defects and disease.

Job Duties

Performs pediatric echocardiograms - involves quality diagnostic scanning of patients in the echo lab or patient room. The patient is positioned on the echo bed by the sonographer performing the procedure. You will be responsible for ensuring patient comfort and safety, maintaining equipment and supplies, obtaining and interpreting images, and providing preliminary reports to the cardiologist.

As a pediatric echocardiogram sonographer, you will be responsible for identifying normal and pathological findings. This role requires specialized knowledge of pediatric cardiac anatomy and physiology, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Participates on departmental and/or hospital performance improvement teams as appropriate.

Required: Certifications/Licenses/Education

Must be a graduate from a recognized Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, or meet clinical experience, didactic course work and alternative eligibility as specified in the ARDMS application for certification instructions.

Must have one of the below or working toward obtaining registration with a recognized Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree.

Must be willing to obtain Pediatric Echo boards within 6 months from time of hire.
