Shift: Day | Job Schedule: PRN | Weekly Hours: Varies
Job Summary Plans, organizes and delivers physical therapy programs that help clients/patients/residents recover and improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength and prevent deformities. Conducts examinations, evaluations, and interventions for clients/patients/residents affected by injury or disease. Utilizes tools and techniques to administer physical therapy interventions following safeguards. Documents client information for evaluation, establishes therapeutic plans and modifies them if necessary. Educates clients, patients, and families about treatment plans and self‑exercises. Knowledge of and utilizes appropriate age‑related treatments and evaluations. Demonstrates and incorporates current research into daily treatment.
Responsibilities
May treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnosis and disorders.
Demonstrates documentation in accordance with departmental guidelines and meets all regulatory requirements.
Follows accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organizations.
Exhibits flexibility with variable work schedules/assignments.
Participates in activities to promote the department, Good Samaritan Society and Sanford Health.
Interacts with providers, case managers, third‑party payers, public organizations, and partners.
May supervise assistants, aides, and students.
Provides ongoing education and training to peers in areas of expertise.
Performs other related duties as requested by manager.
May focus on post‑acute, long‑term care, and home health care environments based on facility needs.
Qualifications
Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as a Physical Therapist.
Valid driver’s license may be required.
Obtains and maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within first 60 days of employment.
