Provide direct and indirect physical therapy services as outlined in students’ IEPs or Section 504 plans. Conduct assessments of gross motor skills, functional mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and postural control for students referred for evaluation. Participate in IEP/Section 504 process, providing input on assessment measures, intervention strategies, and student progress. Collaborate with the special education team to deliver comprehensive services. Consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and stakeholders regarding students’ physical development and accessibility accommodations. Work with staff to integrate physical therapy strategies into the school environment. Train staff and caregivers on positioning, transfers, adaptive equipment, and mobility strategies. Develop, implement, and evaluate physical therapy interventions. Recommend, modify, and monitor adaptive equipment and assistive devices. Maintain accurate records and update the Special Education Administrator on changes. Track student progress and maintain service logs. Handle confidential matters professionally. Pursue ongoing professional development. Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a Physical Therapist Experience in school settings Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team Knowledge of IEPs and commitment to student success National Heritage Academies is an equal-opportunity employer.
