Salary: $2,606 per week
Location: Charleston, South Carolina – 13‑week travel assignment
Job Description Fusion Medical Staffing‑Cath Lab is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) for a 13‑week travel assignment in Charleston, South Carolina. As a member of our team, you will assist physicians in performing minimally invasive procedures with advanced imaging technology while ensuring patient safety and high‑quality care.
Responsibilities
Prepare and position patients for IR procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
Operate fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, and other imaging equipment during procedures
Assist physicians in sterile field: scrub in, pass instruments, maintain sterility
Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details
Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
Ensure radiation safety for patients, staff, and self
Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, restock procedural supplies
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to provide seamless patient care
Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
Perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations
Required Qualifications
One year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
Valid ARRT or RCIS/RCES certification in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance with state regulations
PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification
Other relevant certifications or licenses
Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English
Ability to read/write instructions, follow verbal orders, and PC skills
Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push/pull, bend
Professional attitude and teamwork with a variety of personnel
Fine motor skills for procedural assistance and equipment use
Capacity to handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and work with irregular schedules
Visual acuity and effective communication
