Postdoctoral Research Associate, Aerospace & Mechanical Engineering

Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct research in materials synthesis and electrochemical performance of materials, including leading a project on the synthesis and characterization of MXenes.
Perform materials characterization using XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, FTIR, TGA, and other relevant techniques.
Conduct research on the discovery of new materials for batteries and electrochemical capacitors.
Present research at national and international conferences.
Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer‑reviewed journals.
Participate in grant writing, including generating preliminary data, submitting grant applications, and preparing progress reports.
Train graduate and undergraduate students in electrochemical and materials characterization techniques.
Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of materials characterization.
Knowledge of MXene synthesis and characterization methods.
Ability to communicate professionally in a clear, concise manner orally and in writing.
Minimum Qualifications
PhD in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other related field of study.
Experience in synthesis and characterization of MXenes, battery recycling, and synthesis of 2D materials.
Selected applicant must have PhD conferred upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in the application of MXenes as electrode materials for multivalent ion batteries.
