Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention, while adhering to radiation safety principles. Responsibilities
Demonstrates professional judgment in service delivery and maintains a demeanor conducive to quality care. Delivers appropriate care, recognizes patient conditions, and ensures successful completion of procedures following guidelines. Assists physicians in producing diagnostic images and related procedures for interpretation and intervention. Ensures patient education regarding procedures, safety, and comfort. Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations. Adheres to Orlando Health’s mission and strategic goals. Assesses patient’s physical condition and needs. Provides instructions to ensure patient cooperation and optimal results. Performs patient identification, acquires clinical history, and ensures accurate documentation and communication with team members. Positions patient and equipment; manipulates technical factors for high-quality images. Assesses images for quality, proper annotation, and patient identification. Applies radiation safety principles to minimize exposure. Participates in Quality Control standards and tasks. Proficient in contrast medication administration, sterile techniques, PPE use, and emergency response. Supervises and trains student technologists and new staff. Uses radiology computer systems effectively and accurately. Manages supplies, charging, and documentation. Ensures safety of all customers. Maintains knowledge of equipment operation and troubleshooting; acts as a resource. Communicates professionally with staff, visitors, and co-workers. Maintains inventory levels and performs mentorship roles. Ensures case turnover time meets standards by maintaining workflow. Maintains punctual attendance and compliance with policies and regulations. Qualifications
Education/Training:
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Licensure/Certification: Valid Florida Radiologic Technologist license; ARRT certification; Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. Additional Details
