California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) seeks Physical Therapists currently employed with the state of California who are interested in additional appointments to provide coverage in a part-time capacity, up to 40 hours per month. These uncommon positions are available to all Physical Therapists currently employed by the State of California. Under the clinical direction of the Chief Medical Executive and the direct administrative supervision of the Chief Support Executive or Correctional Health Services Administrator I/II, Correctional Facility (CF), the Physical Therapist I, CF administers physical therapy treatments and active, passive, restorative, and resistive therapeutic treatment to patients in a correctional facility. Interprets to patients the significance of physical therapy services. Complies with all applicable State and federal laws and regulations and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to the physical therapy program. The Physical Therapist I, CF maintains order and supervises the conduct of the incarcerated and maintains the safety of persons and property and the security of working areas and work materials. Perform physical therapy treatments and related therapies, under clinical direction, to inmates in a correctional facility. Interpret service significance to patients. Ensure compliance with State and federal laws, regulations, and department policies. Maintain order and safety in the work environment and manage materials and security within the facility. Qualifications & Requirements

Position open to existing Physical Therapists. Maximum of 40 hours per month for the dual appointment. This is a limited term position that may be extended. Must be a current State of California Physical Therapist. Employer Information
