UC Health is hiring a full‑time Interventional Radiology Technologist for the cardiac catheterization lab department at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. We are offering up to a $30,000 sign‑on bonus.
The Interventional Radiology Technologist assists with all aspects of diagnostic and/or interventional angiographic procedures within the cardiac catheterization labs and vascular angiography suite. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all diagnostic and interventional modalities used within the department such as intravascular ultrasound, fractional flow reserve, intra‑aortic balloon pump, and mechanical thrombectomy.

Qualifications
Minimum Required: Associate’s degree, completion of an AMA‑approved program in radiologic technology or associate’s degree of science in radiologic technology
License and Certification: Ohio license, registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Minimum required: 1–2 years equivalent experience
Responsibilities
Engage in population‑appropriate communication
Have knowledge of growth and development milestones and tasks
Give clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment
Involve family/guardian in assessment, initial treatment and continuing care of the patient
Identify any physical limitations of the patient and deploy intervention when necessary
Recognize and respond appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems
Interpret population‑related data and plan care appropriately
Identify and respond appropriately to different needs resulting from unique psychological needs or those associated with religious/cultural norms
Perform treatments, administer medication or operate equipment safely
Recognize and respond to signs/symptoms of abuse or neglect
Inspect and prepare radiologic equipment, troubleshoot as necessary
Report equipment malfunctions to appropriate people, follow through until problem resolved
Produce hard copy of images as needed, maintain archival storage of digitized data
Prepare patients for procedures, providing clear understandable instructions
Respect the rights, privacy and property of others
Show sensitivity and compassion
Prepare and administer contrast media under MD supervision
Provide knowledgeable assistance in obtaining necessary images
Demonstrate compliance with infection control guidelines and hand hygiene policies
Utilize personal protective equipment and standard precautions in relation to exposure to blood and bodily fluids
Maintain sterile technique while preparing sterile tray and draping patient
Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and respond appropriately when emergencies occur
Monitor radiation exposure to patient and regulate time and intensity of dose to protect patient and other team members, notify MD of prolonged exposure
Report to radiation physicist per hospital policy
Monitor contrast usage during case, keep MD aware of contrast usage during procedure
Demonstrate proper hemostasis techniques including manual pressure
Maintain competence and certification in point‑of‑care testing
Participate in continuing education activities to promote professional growth
Participate in unit activities and/or hospital committees to improve patient care and work‑related processes
Precept students and other health‑care team members to maximize their learning experience
Engage in ongoing education and training in cultural and language appropriate service delivery
Stay current with changes in technology and patient care by attending in‑services, journal clubs and reading professional journals
Demonstrate knowledge of hemodynamic parameters and monitoring; accurately document the chronology of the procedures; accurately record hemodynamic waveforms and calculate values; promptly notify team members of cardiac rhythm disturbances or pressure abnormalities
