Overview

Radiology Technologist II Acut at Novant Health. The Radiologic Technologist II works independently and/or assists physicians/APCs in the performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the x-ray equipment in order to obtain diagnostic images in the acute setting. The technologist is responsible for inpatient and outpatient procedures, the emergency room, fluoroscopy, portables, and the operating rooms. Qualifications

Education: Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program. Certification required within 6 months of hire post-graduation from an accredited Radiology Program. 2-year/Associate Degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one year experience in diagnostic radiology preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

ARRT certification in Radiography - RT(R), required.

Applicable state licensure as required, required.

Post-graduates from an accredited Radiology Program must pass ARRT registry within 6 months of completing program, required.

Additional Skills:

Applies ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.

Knowledge of federal and state radiation safety laws.

Uses personnel monitoring devices appropriately.

Ensures proper equipment performance and schedules maintenance for emergent needs.

Operates radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment; performs radiographic and non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures, including intraoperative and mobile procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.

Assists licensed practitioners in radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, including intraoperative and mobile procedures (e.g., ERCPs, bronchoscopy, mini C-arms, post reductions).

Mobile imaging including lines, pacers, and neonates.
