The Community You’ll Be Caring For AdventHealth Connerton – a specialty hospital for medically complex patients, Pulmonary and Vapotherm Center of Excellence. Staff consists of all Registered Respiratory Therapists, 65% BSN or above RNs, and current staff certifications include CCRN, PCCN, CNML, WCNC, NEA‑BC, and RN‑BC. Partnerships with South University for onsite BSN completion, a Simulation Lab, Clinical Transition Pilot Program, free prep courses for national certifications, robust clinical atmosphere with partnerships with nursing, pharmacy, therapy and respiratory schools, preceptorship and residencies for Respiratory and Nursing, and opportunities to participate and lead in culturally diverse programs.
The Role You’ll Contribute Responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of the Respiratory Care Department, including personnel direction and coordination, patient care administration through respiratory treatments and modalities, oxygen, therapeutic gas, and mist inhalation management, correct medication administration, daily operations, departmental policies, budgeting, physician and interdepartmental relations, customer service, policy development, staff orientation, scheduling, staffing, performance evaluation, educational activities, quality improvement initiatives, resource management, budget planning, staff selection, training and retention, and overall application of performance improvement techniques.
Responsibilities
Oversee Respiratory Therapy department personnel, including hiring, evaluating, training and ensuring efficiency of technical staff.
Assist in the quality assurance program within the department and the hospital.
Administer therapeutic gases, such as oxygen, and prescribed medications via inhalation, including bronchodilators and humidified gases.
Administer positive pressure breathing treatments, including IPPB, Ezpap, CPAP, and BiPAP, and monitor continuous ventilatory support.
Participate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and perform airway care, including tracheobronchial aspiration.
Maintain patient, family, and stakeholder satisfaction through quality improvement initiatives.

Supervises respiratory therapy department personnel, including hiring, evaluating, training, and ensuring technical staff efficiency.

Qualifications
Associate degree required.
Three years of work experience required.
Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.

Basic Life Support - CPR Certificate (BLS) required.
